Hello All,
Desperately need your help in deciding whether to install SQL Server 2008 on Windows 2008 or Windows 2003. Does any one know if there are any issues using SQL Server 2008 on Windows 2008?

No idea about Windows 2008 as I think its still a RTM. But, no issues with SQL 2008 on Windows 2003 server.

RTM stands for "Release To Manufacturer". This is what done when Microsoft is happy to formal release (i.e. sell) the product to you. In essence, Microsoft has created all of the software required to install SQL Server 2008 and has sent it a "manufacturer" so that DVD's and any associated media can be created ready to be delivered to customers.
As for running SQL Server 2008 on Windows 2008, I would expect that this should work satisfactorily. In theory, Microsoft intended Visual Studio 2008, Windows 2008 and SQL 2008 to all be released together and, hence, I would expect them all to work well with each other.

I am very curious as we are planning to move to Windows 2008 for IIS 7 and SQL 2008
Is there a proven performance gain?
I have already seen firsthand the "fun" of trying to setup Windows 2008 for IIS
I don't expect anything less for SQL 2008 either, a lot of default options will be off to cause issues 😛
