SQL Saturday #8 - Orlando Florida

  • Go to http://www.SQLSaturday.com for more details.

I've submitted 3 sessions, but haven't heard back as to whether I'm speaking. The one I think will be picked is "Disaster Recovery - Preparing for the Storm" in honor of all these hurricanes, wildfires, and tornados we've been experiencing lately. @=)

I hope you guys can come. It's in October, so sign up fast & soon!

  • I am planning on going. My first ever.

  • WHOO HOO! I've had 2 sessions accepted!

Disaster Recovery: Preparing for the Storm and The Nitty Gritty of Database Backups. Both beginner level sessions. Better start working on my power points. @=)

Also, there's a slot in there (TBA) for a mysterious fella named "Steve Jones". I wonder who this Steve Jones guy is. Our Steve Jones perhaps?

If so, Steve, I'd love to meet you in person. @=)

BTW, I've just attached a tentative copy of the schedule, sorted by time & type.

Congrats. Is this your first time speaking?

  • Nope. I spoke at the Jacksonville, Florida SQL Saturday also. It's funny. I subbed for the Backup / Restore session at the last moment and found out I knew more about backups than I realized. @=)

I also had two other sessions at the Jax SQL Saturday, one on beginner SSRS and the other was a joint session on getting the job & first day on the job with Devon Knight (Brian Knight's brother).

All in all, it was pretty fun.

  • Brandie,

I'll see you there. I was planning on hitting the JAX event, but couldn't. I have one session on Getting Started with SQL Server Profiler that I will be presenting as well. It's a beginner to intermediate session as well. I just gave it last week at the OPASS meeting so at least I have it all prepped!

  • I look forward to meeting you, Jack! @=)
