Citrix is changing the name of its flagship product from Citrix Presentation Server (CPS) to XenApp. More from the blogosphere:
- Citrix Presentation Server has left the building, XenApp is the new name (Brian Madden)
- Citrix Presentation Server is now XenApp (MSTerminalServices.org)
I know the name change is related to the acquisition of Xen earlier, and the idea of branding everything consistently with the same name, but at the end of the day, I think we're still just going to call them Citrix servers. Look at the name evolution just from when I became aware of Citrix: from WinFrame to MetaFrame to Citrix Presentation Server (and I'm lumping similar names like MetaFrame and MetaFrame XP together.. for the full evolution, see the Jason Conger post from MSTerminalServices.org I linked). What do most folks say today? Yup, Citrix server.
