Platform Windows XP Media Center Edition, Ver 2002, Service Pack2
SQL server 2005 Developer edition, 365 days trial (contains 32-bit beta software)
IE 6.0
IIS 5.1
ASP.NET 2.0(beta)
Netbios/SMB turned Off
Microsoft SQL Server client installed.
CTP requirements all successfull.
The installation program hangs, hangs, hangs,.........
during verifying the IIS.
IIS is workign with default web site fully functional.
Any workaround for this?

The real problem with these installations (most of them in fact) is that you must not install third party programs before these. The new computer came up with a hard coded, hidden drive with the OS installation that did not work well creating impossible to do an IIS installation.
After this being solved [really a XP Professioanl Bug] new problems cropped up.
The HP Updater ran in the background and I made the mistake of installing Norton AntiVirus. When I removed Norton AntiVirus and deleted the updater, the installation of SQL 2005 CTP succeeded.
I am glad I realized the problem but it took me couple of days.
