We are having issues with one of our servers that uses the Netback MS SQL Client to back up our SQL Server 2005 databases.
We are using Netbackup client for Windows, v6.0 MP4. We have upgraded to SQL Server 2005, and are using a named instance. When we go to Start --> Programs --> Veritas Netbackup --> Netbackup Agents --> Netbackup MS SQL Client and open the Sql Server connection properties dialog box, under the SQL Server properties dialog box, the host is listed as ServerName\InstanceName and the Instance is listed as default. Shouldn't the host be Servername, and the Instance be Instance Name?
Also, in the field Netbackup for SQL Server is installed on selected host? the response box says no.
We have verified that all components have installed properly according to the documentation. We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, but it has not resolved the issue.
Any ideas?

Call Veritas support. If SQL is running fine, it's not your SQL server. Any other changes during the upgrade (OS upgrade, maybe)? We're running the same version of Netbackup against SQL2K and SQL2K5 on both WIN2K and WIN2K3 servers and have had no problems. Maybe the only difference is our SQL2K5 servers were fresh installs, not upgrades.....

We were able to fix the issue by entering the Servername by itself and entering the Instancename of the Sql Server in question.
Thanks for your suggestions.
