Hi,
I'm a newbie here, plz allow me to ask some help ^_^
I'm sorry if I posted in a wrong section
But here is my problem, to make a good sql documentation.
I know I can download many documentation tools and just with a simple touch I can make a HTML document out of it.
But I think this is not good enough, coz this kind of document just tell u what your server stores, but I need to know what it's used for, which application uses it, or how do 1 database connected to another database (the diagram yes). The auditor need it? Yes they said.
It is not some things u can do with a software I think, coz we need to trace it down ourself. And when someone read the document, he can easily find out what a table is used for, which user uses it, which application uses it, how it connected to another one, etc.
So any of people here kind enough to help me, I need some example of a ready made good documentation or at least some template so I can start it out myself (not blurry as now). The wonderful thing is if there are some ebooks explaining how to do this, have searched for it but nothing.
Any help or comments is appreciated
Thx a lot

Take a look at ApexSQL's Doc product. It won't do all the work for you (as you mentioned), but it will do a lot of it, and make the rest much easier.

It really will make it much easier to do what you're trying to do.
