Hello, I had been running SQL Server 2005 Express along with the DTSWizard on a Win 2K Pro machine without any problem. My database is at Network Solutions connected to my website. I could manage the database and also use the DTSWizard to Export for backup. This past month I upgraded (fresh install) to XP Pro. SQL Server 2005 Express works fine and I’m able to connect to the database without any problems. Unfortunately, I can’t get the DTSWizard to install. I need it to do backups (Export). I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled many times without any luck. Do you think my antivirus may be preventing the wizard from installing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
the DTS is from SQL 2000 client tools
in SQL 2005 this tool was replaced by the Integration service
and is not supplied with the express version
if you have a licenced version of SQL 2000 you can install only the client tools
form the CD

Thanks for the information. That explains why the DTS worked before and not now. I had downloaded the DTS Wizard from MS but it didn't occur to me that it was a 2K tool only. Thanks again. Not sure what I'm going to do, the third party tools all look rather expensive. But, I'll figure it out.
