I have sql server 2000 and alnlysis service instance in a windows 2003, is their any way so i can change the memory settings for AS only, or AS will utlize the default memory settings from sql server instance itself.
SQL Server and Analysis Services are completely independent services and do not share any settings.
If you need to change the memory used by Analysis Services, you can do this using Analysis Manager. Connect to the server and then select properties. I would strongly recommend that you read up on the settings first. There are articles that discuss this in details on technet (e.g. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2000/maintain/anservog.mspx). Have a read and then make any appropriate changes.
