Can you use another way to send me daily articles email?

  • See message below, I received within my mailbox:

The file: "Body of Message" you received from SQLServerCentral.com, with e-mail subject: "Generating Missing Dates and Numbers (SQLServerCentral.com 2/6/2008)", has been "Removed". It may be infected with the virus: "CorruptedCompressedUuencodeFile".

If the detected virus was "EncryptedCompressedFile", the file usually is a "password protected zip file". Because these types of files are used by e-mail "worms" to propagate themselves Getronics no longer allows this type of file to be transmitted through e-mail. Please use FTP, a web page, or a file share to exchange these types of files.

  • I'm having the same problem. Our provider told me that sqlservercentral mails are not RFC compliant. They had to put this domain explicitly on a whitelist. Thunderbird also regards sqlservercentral mails as spam.

  • I heard this was an Antigen issue that is fixed in SP1. Why it started yesterday, no idea.

I'll check on the RFC compliance. I thought we were. If you have a specific item that's out of compliance, I'll see what I can do.

  • It actually didn't start yesterday. The mails were being tagged "suspect" from 12/12/2007. I haven't receive any sqlservercentral mails from 12/15/2007. As our provider changed at the beginning of 2008 I cannot say for sure what part of the problem is on our side (especially as our former provider was a little bit paranoid 😉

  • Thanks for the note.

We have asked that people whitelist, which should help. Not sure what else we can do here. The newsletter is fairly simple, though my editorials ramble every which way, and that can trigger filters at times.
