What version of SQL Management Studio do you have? - have you run any Service Pack updates to your Management Studio or SQL 2005?
let us know - thanks

Version Level Edition
9.00.1399.06RTMStandard Edition
I haven't tried to update the service pack because my Sql Management Studio is newly installed.
Thanks....:)

Hi
I had a similar problem on my development notebook - which started doing this after I installed SQL 2008 CTP Feb 2008.
I could not open tables or design tables - I think the error was along the same lines as what you mention.
Is there anything that you have maybe installed after your SQL Management Studio?
Maybe a service pack run may solve the issue.
I have not sorted out my problem yet as I am busy using the SQL 2008 Tools (SSMS)
let us know
Thanks
Kevin

Hi
I would after having downloaded the SP1 or SP2 - then on the PC / Server that requires the Service Pack to be installed - run the package - usually called something like:
SQLServer2005SP2-KB921896-x86-ENU.exe
then run this file and follow the steps
Thanks

Probably you have to upgrade the SP's in SQL 2k5., otherwise it would not be in supported by micosoft. Make sure you do have SA permission.
Check the permission you do have in that DB?
