SQL2000 Cluster Help Pls

  • Dear friends,

Require some help on a SQL2000 cluster problem pls.

I have a newly built active/pasive SQL 2000 cluster on windows server 2003.

While testing the failover when I try to do a "move group" for the "cluster group" it completes successfully with the primary owner changing to secondary.

But while moving the " disk group" , one of the disks(J shows as failed momentarily and the owner does not change to the secondary but returns back to the primary node.

Pls can anyone let me know why the secondary node not able to access the drive(J?

Note - This drive (J is just a drive containing some database backup files.

    Many thanks in advance,

  • I'd start out by verifying that the volume is available to that node.  Check with your SAN administrator to be sure that it was offered to that server, and then shut down both nodes.  Bring up the secondary node and make sure that the disk volume shows up there and is assigned the correct drive letter.
