Full backups are failing intermittently. Tape drive is a sony AIT3 700V.
Tape drive as well as tapes have been replaced. Currently running differentials as well as fb on same tape. The error is the following:
"Internal I/O request 0x67E01B18: Op: Write, pBuffer: 0x050D0000, Size: 65536, Position: 524288, UMS: Internal: 0xC00000A2, InternalHigh: 0x0, Offset: 0x80000, OffsetHigh: 0x0, m_buf: 0x050D0000, m_len: 65536, m_actualBytes: 0, m_errcode: 19, BackupFile: \\.\Tape0"
I would appreciate if you translate to plain English.
thx

Have you considered doing your sql server backups to disk? I think this is better from an reliability and performance point of view. (This means that you would have to copy the files to tape when the sql server backup has completed.)

Yes, that has been one of the considerations. right now we need to cross this bridge as implementing backups to NAS is a few weeks away.
Need to find out what needs to be done to correct current error .
thx
