SQL SERVER 2000 – REPLICATION - sp_repldone/sp_replcounters’

  • I have transactional replications between server A in one location and server B in another location. Due to SUSPECT error in database we have delete the data base from server A and restored from backup. And I have copied the data in CD and sent the same details to SERVER B. We have deleted the database from server B and restored data from CD.

After restored In SERVER B, we have deleted publications from server A and start push new subscription in server A.

Now in server A, the following error message is appearing in replication monitor.

Log Reader Failed : The process could not execute ‘sp_repldone/sp_replcounters’ on Server A.

In Agents – Log reader agents : the above said message is appearing.

    ERROR MESSAGES

The process could not execute sp_repldone/sp_replcounters on database

An error occured while processing the log for the database

(source: DATABASE (datasource) : error number : 9004)

The process could not set the last distributed transaction.

    (source : DATABASE -servall-10 Agent : Error number : 22017)

Kindly help me to restore the problem.

    Thanks & Regards

  • Check out the last post here and see if it applies. I don't have replication setup here but hopefully this helps.

  • Hi,

There might be another (rogue) log reader process running which needs to be terminated. May be you can check for that and kill it and see if it helps.
