  • - because you always learn stuff you can implement immediatly for local benefit.

    - and because it is big fun to meet your peers in and out of geek city 😉

    - to finaly have that virtual pint materialized in a local brewery. This may need some training 😀

    - see the faces behind the avatars and user names

    - every year again I'm amazed how close to earth the gurus are. Always available for as well tech-talk as smalltalk.

I hope I get my approval next week or so. :Whistling:

  • - becuae the coffee in Seattle is soooo very good.

    - because it's a good opportunity to renew friendships with the people you met last conference

    - because you'll never complain about the weather at home again. 😀

I'm waiting til the end of the month, for feedback on submited abstracts. I have to pay for myself this time.

  • PASS this year will be great because:

There's plenty of great brew pubs nearby

    http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=Seattle+brew+pubs

and you can visit the Original Starbucks. Whether you enjoy their coffee or not it's noteworthy to see their humble first store.

and you can visit the SQL Sentry booth to see our great products. 😉

    See you there!

  • I am interested to know how much information there is going to be for SQL 2005 from Microsoft or are they going to give their standard answer - you need to upgrade to 2008 (which we are not looking at until 2010!:P)

  • From Microsoft, there will be lots of 2008 stuff they want to throw out. After all, they want you to upgrade.

The more popular authors might stick with 2005 since they have presentations, but lots of them like upgrades since it gives them things to talk about as well, so it might be 2008.

The newer speakers likely will stick with 2005 and their experiences.

Sessions should be out in a few weeks from PASS.

  • Probably early-mid June for the full session list. Probably spotlights earlier.

End of May is the date they gave for feedback on submitted abstracts.

  • Hey guys it is so tempted to go there but ........... no way I can go there so mant commitments .... clients.............boss ......... 🙁

    :crying:

  • Tell the boss it's an excellent learning opportunity. Tell him you will take details of all teh problems you're currently having and will sit with some MS developers and find solutions.

Where would you be travelling from?

  • Indeed, you get the huge opportuninty :

    - to meet your peers and discuss issues you experience.

    - to meet the MS dev team(s) / PSS / SQLCAT and discuss issues you experience.

and learn a bunch of stuff of problems you didn't even thought you might have.... and check them back at the office and detect that you can prevent many headaches by implementing these hints.

  • Hi Gila

    I know what I am missing 🙂

  • First of all, i want to know,

how much cost for its registeration?

how many days it will happen ?

who are all participate in this conference ?

As a developer, what are the benefits for me ?

Suppose if my project manager come with me, what he can learn from this conference ?

will it arranged only for developer or for all communities ?

whom should arrange accommadation if anybody came from outside washington ?

if we have to take care,do we get cheap accomadation in washington ?

what do you mean by SSC6 ? is there anything like ssc4,ssc5 like that ?

    karthik

  • SSC6 is a registration code. There are no others from us.

  • As for using the SSC6 registration code. I'm one of those that will not be able to use the code. It would be nice if we could get into the casino, but then again how are you going to fund it if people can't use the SSC6 code.

    Here are some possible options:

    - Find some corporate sponsors

    - Charge a fee (as you already stated)

    - Ask for donation (almost the same as the fee allow people can determine what they think it is worth).

    - Provide customers using the code something extra, and everyone else gets less.
