Integrated Service 2005 and ADABASE

  • do you know if it can pull data from the mainframe, say an ADABAS file and store it into a SQL Server table using the New Integration Services. If so, is there some examples some where?

  • Hi Arthur,

This will depend on whether there is an OLE DB Provider for your data source. Not knowing anything about mainframes I'm not the person to ask about this.

Alternatively, if the source is a flat file, you could try an SSIS data source adapter called the "Flat File Source" which allows you to access flat files (unsurprisingly).

  • SQL2005 IS should be able to pull data from any ODBC compliant data source.

If you can find an ADABAS ODBC driver for Windows, then IS can get your data.  (ADABAS should be able to provide such a driver.)
