Hi all,
I would like to know if SQL 2005 supports SSIS and SSRS components. Also, will adding these components to SQL 2005 installation trigger any issues with the DB or with other applications.
The reason i have raised such a question is because i received a request from a customer today to host his database on SQL 2005. In turn he asked me if SQL 2005 supports SSIS and SSRS components. Do you have any reference material i can refer to for more details?

Of course the 2 are compatible. They are included with 2005. If you have a 2005 license you get both these add-ons at no additional cost, but really these are more than simple add-ons they are very enterprise strength etl & reporting solutions...
The only issue is scalability - both require resources on top of the db engine that will demand more as your system load grows. They all can reside on same box but really need to be on dedicated servers if in an enterprise..
