In Recovery

    We have a server used exclusively for QA testing. In the SSMS database Summary screen I've seen one or more databases with a status of 'In Recovery'. To my knowledge no one was restoring the database - I'm the admin & dba on the server. The database has a Recovery Model = 'Simple'. What could be causing this? The server is W2k3 Sp2 with SQL2k5E SP2.

    This could mean that Sql server is recovering itself from an error or other issue. In this case it would be recovering from a checkpoint. Check the log files (Sql and Windows) to see if there is some event causing the databases(s) to be recovered.
