transfer logins in SSIS

    Hi,

    in SSIS is there an equivalent to the old DTS Transfer Logins Task?

    Am I correct in assuming the only way I can create an SSIS Package is via BIDS, which I have zilch experience with. (Is this tool on the SQL 2005 install disks?)

    Except for maintenance plans, yes you need to use BIDS. BIDS is nothing more than Visual Studio, and yes it is on the installation disks for SQL Server 2005.

    And yes there is a task to transfer logins.
