  They installed it, now I've (maybe) got to support it.

  At a very high (and brief) level, I need to know how security in Analysis Services works. From BOL, it says there's one server role, whose members have administrator (i.e. full) rights on everything in the instance. It also says that all local admins on the hosting server are automatically members of that server level role. Looking at the Seucirty Tab of the Properties window of a freshly installed AS instance, I note no members listed... which implies that (a) as local admin, I am an AS admin; (b) all other local admins are also AS admins; and (c) ain't no way to lock out the non-DBAs or otherwise control this, like you can with SQL itself.

  Is this correct?

  I'll worry about the lower-level stuff later (rights within databases, cubes, et. al.)
