I have been doing SQL for years.. I hate to admit it, but I have always just put up with it..
Of course today I am in a rush, and the server is taking unusually long to bring up the actual restore window. So in Enterprise manger you select the DB, then right click, then all taks, then restore..
Then 30 minutes or more later it give you the list of what is available to restore... What can I do to speed it up? Anyone else have this issue? I am sure it is reading through the backup history.. but I normally don't use one of the existing backups is knows about.. I restore straight from a device or file..

Also run sp_who2 from QA while waiting the restore screen in EM and check if there is a process blocking it.
