Backup Failing in Lightspeed

    Hi

    While taking backup of a database in lightspeed.. it fails with below error:

    SQLErrorLog:Warning: BackupMedium::ReportIoError: write failure on backup device 'XXX-DEVICE NAME-XXXX. Operating system erro

    I am executing the job which is same I use for months together. So I beleive this is some hard drive issue. However, retry also failed.

    Could anyone please help how to troubleshoot this issue? OS is Win 2K3 EE and SQL 2000 EE SP4 is installed on it.

    does it fail with the same error using native backups?

    I am not sure as I did not try with native backup.. (DB is too big to try and it's in production)

    But I executed this job twice and found no luck.
