I had a multiple interviews and the feedback of the interview was good. However at least three companies said they were still thinking about if they need the position or they were still defined the position???
Those jobs were referred by a recruiting company. Why did the company go through a recruiting company to look for someone for a job when the company itself does not know how it fits into the organization?

Ah, yes. The old "double-talk" standard.
Could be the contracting rep shoved his way into the company and insisted they needed this position. The company almost bought it, maybe they had been considering this already, but still hasn't made up their mind. In the meantime, pushy salesman contracting rep starts trying to make his commission by pushing contractors towards the company.
I actually lost out on a great job opportunity because of this type of BS. In my case, the contracting rep showed up late to the interview, then got mad at the HR lady because she was in meetings (apparently she only had a very thin time slot available to chat with him and he missed the window). Anyway, he left an insulting comment for the HR lady at the reception desk, saying how he was more important than anything else she might be doing...
This was after my interview with the company. The company's IT manager promptly called me up apologizing and saying I wouldn't be hired because HR lady didn't want to have anything to do with this contracting company anymore....
BLEARGH. I looked for another contracting firm right after that. I don't want to be forced down someone's throat. It makes for bad workplace politics. I want an employer to want me because I shine so bright they can't resist snatching me up.

Don't you just love jerks like that. HE was angling for payment from the company, not the other way around, yet not only could he not be bothered with showing up on time for the meeting but then he got nasty because she was not waiting for him with bated breath. As we say in the South, he needed killin'. Or at least beatin'. Perhaps you and some of your pirate-minded friends should find the jerk and make him walk the plank. :w00t: I haven't picked up either book of stories, yet, but they are on my list.
The IT manager probably really wanted you based on your own shining merits, otherwise he wouldn't have called you. Maybe he was hoping you would apply independently at a later date.

There's a good chance that they started interviewing before they actually got the position approved. That happened to me, once. I was there all day then waited for weeks while they finished the approval process. Finally I accepted a position at another company. When I sent the other guy a courtesy e-mail to let him know that I had found a job he said that he was sorry they had not been able to move "in my timeframe" (his words). At the time I interviewed they said the position was as good as approved but then they kept stringing me along. The one that interviewed you may have done the same thing, hoping the job would be approved.
