Was hoping to use the best possible way to convert Microsoft Access
databases to SQL 2000.
I like using the import data task (Enterprise Manager) for "converting" ACCESS to SQL, but I noticed that it doesn't carryover any keys, foreign or primary.
Any thoughts ?
I'm not particularly interested in using ACCESS (upsizing) for the job.

Hi,
I am only talking about your data structure not your forms reports etc.. converting these are a separate issue.
The upsizing wizard in Access really isn't that bad.For the most part it does a pretty good job, although I have known it lose Identiy column info.
The main arguement against using it would be if you are redesigning the structure of your data base at the same time.In this case the transformation ability of DTS is better.
If you really dont want to use the upsizing wizard to copy your live data, why not upsize first, modify the structure of any tables you need to, wipe the data in SQL server, then use DTS to move the data into the structure you have created.
