I have seen a couple of threads about this problem and the only resolution that I saw was to re-build the server. I am hoping that I do not have to do that.
Anyway, when I try to start using SQL mail services I am getting the following error:
If a stored procedure could not be found, SQL Mail may not be installed in the instance
xp_get_mapi_profiles: Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fullfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 17930)
I already checked that the SQL Mail feature is enabled on SQL Service Area Configuration. Is there anything else that I should look at?
Also I have configured Outlook 2000 with a Default User ID and assigned the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service to start with the Outlook account I created and then stopped and started the services.
I wish I did not have to use SQL Mail but the software package requires a MAPI client be used to send these certain emails.

Outlook is set as the default mail client in IE.
I will look into seeing if Outlook 2000 is set as the default mail client on the server.
Thanks Mohammed.
