I setup replication on my MSSQL 2005 servers back in July. The databases are being replicated using the 'snapshot' replication. I (had) the distributor options set to never have the snapshots expire, which is why I think I am in this situation.
So today, I changed one of my DB's Replication properties to allow expiration in 72 hours.
Now does this mean that any folders out in repldata older than 72 hours will be gone, or does this mean that in 72 hours all snapshots not syncing will be removed.
Some advice would be much appreciated.

Generally the snapshots with this time period get expired and the next snapshot generated would be taken for synchronization.
If you are using a Transactional replication u can get rid of such situations as it would only look for initial snapshot.
