Access to Sybase linked server for non-windows accounts

  Ok, this may be a dumb question, but I haven't bumped into a simple answer yet, so here goes.

  I have users that need to run openqueries from a linked ASEOLEDBProvider Sybase server. If I create a SQL account, it can run the query, but any domain\user windows account cannot. They receive:

  Msg 7303, Level 16, State 1, Line 1

  Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "Sybase.ASEOLEDBProvider"...

  I'm hoping this isn't something really simple that I've simply overlooked, but I have a feeling it is...

  Maybe this is access related. Is there a similar user on the Sybase server?

  Are you using av trusted connection? What is the configuration of the linked server.

  Maybe you can use a special user for these querys.

  Hope these questions help you find the answer.
