Service Pack 3a on Cluster Environment

  • Hi everyone,

Just wanted to know if anyone has problem on their cluster environment after upgrading to SP 3a?

We Installed the SP on the primary node and let MSCS take care of the rest on the secondary. Once we rebooted the Servers, we could not start the SQLServer sevice on the Cluster Administrator at all.

HP Support was onsite and looking at the server. It seems that there were alot of Cluster registry values which were suppose to be filled but were empty.

    Anyone has this kinda experience?

    Thanks

  • We have had many many problems with service packs and clusters. We manually apply the service pack to each node. There is a known issue with service packs files don't get copied over to the second node at all. HP support should have articles on this big time. If you do a search you will see what I went through last year. We currently run SP2 with all the hot fixes. There is a DTS bug with SP3 that keeps us from upgrading.
