  Hi All

  I hope everybody is having a great day.

  We have a web application that is using sql server 2000 as the back end. one of the web pages is using a stored procedure to get data from the database.

  this stored procedure is actually getting data from another database server through a link server.

  is there a way to get data from an other database server without the link server installed on our database server

  please help

  openquery / openrowset will offer 1 more option (one of them requires the link, but I forgot which one).

   

  The other option is to use ssis or whatever else to get this data to your server on a pre determined schedule and do it that way.
