expired subscription cleanup.

    We are running a 2005 distrbution box with a mixture of 2000 & 2005 publishers and subscribers.

    Some of the expired subscription cleanup jobs(which run sys.sp_expired_subscription_cleanup) on some of the publishers have stopped working, not really gone into why, but possible different reasons.

    the distrubution box has a distribution cleanup job which amongst other things is supposed to cleanup expired subscriptions as well and this calls(sp_MSsubscription_cleanup).

    1. What is the difference between the two procs above?

    2. If it necessary to run the expired subs. cleanup job on the publishers?

     

    Any help appreciated.

    I noticed noone had a ready answer for you, so might I suggest that you use sp_helptext to look at each sp in it's own environment and see what you can find out.
