SQLServerAgent dont start with a sa password

  • What is the reason SQLServerAgent only starts when the SQL sa user has no password. Whatever I fill in the logon tab (services) it makes no differents. The SQLServerAgent service only starts with a blank password.

    thanks

  • The service needs to run under an NT account. Either local system or more commonly, a domain service account.

  • Hi Andy,

I know. I run it under the administrator account and under a user account with admin rights but as long the sa account holds an password it don't works. If I remove the password from sa, the service does start up
