I know that if I create a visio erd diagram and can export it to sql server and it will create a database based on the diagram with the tables, keys and relationships created.
However, I am creating a new erd diagram that has many tables that won't fit into the largest page.
My question is: can I break up the diagram into several pages? To continue the links between the pages, I might have to repeat some tables on the other pages. Will this interfere by creating duplicate tables from the repeating table? Or will it create other instances of the repeating tables from the diagram? And is it ok if other instances are created?
If I can't repeat the tables, is there a way in visio to show the link of a table with tables on another page?
Thanks Much for any ideas, suggestions, or answers.

yes, and that's exactly what we do in our shop...we make multiple ERD's, each related to following a specific flow of data...one for product and it's attributes, another for orders that relates to products (but not it's detail), another for billing as related to orders, etc. we probably have 20 different ERD's explaining the different business logic of the data.
You can use the same table in multiple ERD's no problem...if you get in a psoition where you feel you need to repeat a table, that's where you might want to pull out a group of tables as a separate ERD, to better visually depect the detail of the relationships

"I am creating a new erd diagram that has many tables that won't fit into the largest page."
Don't overlook the low-tech solution: I only have an 8-1/2 by 11 inch printer, so I print the diagram and scotch-tape the pages together.
