If I FTP somebody a Backup file of my database so they can restore it to their server, is there anything else I need to include with it?

I don't know about FTP but you can email/postal mail the .bak file tell the person to put the .bak in the Backup sub folder in SQL Server folder then go Management Studio to use the wizard. The main thing let SQL Server create the file path because if you create it SQL Server gets confused. Hope this helps.
Kind regards,

either ftp or email is just a mean to deliver the back up to the other person. Once got the file he or she can restore by using the wizard in SQL Management Studio or the RESTORE command in a query window.
