I think one of the guys from ProClarity wrote up a doc on migrating from AS2K to AS2K5, it should be accessible from the msft site for AS. Some (a lot!?!) of the architecture has changed (eg: drill through, virtual cubes etc), plus some additional functionality/features have been added, which in general would mean you may be better off completely rebuilding the model/s to take advantage of the new features and/or changes in the way the software now works.

i dont have much of an idea how cubes are built in the first place. the cubes i manage were in place before i came to this job. i have learned to manage them and a bit about their structure, but i wouldnt be able to create myown yet, or take advantage of new features. besides, if what if the new features mean changes are required in our front end? we simply havnt time or resources making changes to the front end. that will come in time, but at present its not viable.
