I have just installed Vista on a new computer. When I open Management Studio, the server is shown and is running but when I click Connect, I get an error. In the log it says:
Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 11.
Login failed for user 'Dougs\Doug'. [CLIENT:
I have given Dougs/Doug full control and I am the administrator.
Setting is for Windows Authentication and I have enabled this in IIS.
Even if I try to use SQL Server Authentication and set a user name and password I still get the same error.
Does any one know how to connect to the server in Vista?

You can't just double click the short cut, you have to right click and then click Run as Administrator. Then it connects.
Not used to Windows Vista yet, but I'm already sorry I bought it.
If you haven't bought it yet, don't bother: the main advantage seems to be that there's a transparent border around each window, but the disadvantages are legion.
