Okay, I have done all the research I can, and I can't find anything regarding my problem (of course, I may be blind and just missed it).
I have SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition loaded on two computers, on one it is the default instance and the other it is a named instance. I have upgraded the default instance to SP1. I am unable to upgrade the named instance to SP1.
Has anyone else run into this problem and if so, how did you resolve it?
Thanks,
Lynn

i have a default instance on 2000, and a named instance on 2005, the service pack install did not have any problems picking the 2005 named instance.
during the installation you should be able to get a list of instances on your machine, then you should be able to select the instance you want.
are you getting any specific error?

I have a default instance of SQL 2000 and a named instance of SQL 2005 on my box as well. I have no problem selecting the named instance of SQL 2005. I am unable to apply the SP1 to the named instance, it keeps failing. I have admin rights to my box, so that shouldn't be the problem either.
Has anyone else had this problem where they could not apply SP1 to SQL Server 2005 and if so, what did you have to do to resolve the issue.
Thanks,
Lynn
