i am installing a new program called esprit and it keeps telling me ( Setup could not detect a SQL Express 2005 instance named KBMSS running. Please correct and rerun the installation.) how can i install the kbmss so that it will run correctly

It seems that your program requires a SQL express edition called as KBMSS. you might have to install the instance seperately (if your application does not do it by itself). But before that check if you already have a Instance installed but it is stopped. you may have to start it manually.

Does your system has a SQL Express default instance as well as another instance named KBMSS installed???

i checked and it does not have the kbmss installed and i checked and it does not have it installed and not started is there somewhere i can get it to install it

I would check with the espirit people.

It might be something installed via an application of theirs that you need along with what you are installing now.

install sql service manager, then you can see all the instances you are running on your machine, this will reduce the confusion.

thanks for all the help the cd comes with the kbmss that is needed there is a install wizard that gives u a read me file ( yea the ones everybody closes ) it tells you how to get the kbmss file and how it install it thanks again for all the help you guys have been great
