I'm implementing log shipping for the purpose of maintaining a warm database for failover. The log shipping documentation on where is the best place to place the transaction log backups is vague. I'm going to store the files in a separate share (not in the primary or secondary server but on a dedicater filer). Can you comment as to whether this is a good practice?
Backup/Restore might be slow becuase you have use backup files from 3rd server...but speed is depends on your network...and server NIC configuration...
