I have no idea either but if you found out I'd love to know. It's bloody annoying and driving me insane... where I have to save scripts is about 8 directories under on a different drive to the current default. Did anyone find out how to, if so please share

I don't believe there is any way to do it with the interface. In the registry you can modify several default locations.
However, in most cases as I changed them, they changed back. So have fun, but this is as close as I could get.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Shell

Thank you for your reply but after painstakingly bumbling around yesterday I found something that isn't quite how I wanted to do it but it still works. If you create a shortcut on your desktop to the specific folder(s) you want to default to, when you choose save as, you can choose my desktop folder from the left window pane then the link to the default area. Once you have done this for the first time in that day you can use the history button, ie the green button with the arrow next to the folder drop down box or if the directory is the same as previously used it will be the current one in the option window.

Hi there,
I was looking for this myself and found this:
Once you've made that change, you can click the "My Projects" icon in the left pane in the Save as dialog and it will take you to the folder you specifed in the settings file
