All
I just upgraded my main production system to 2005.
This system has a linkserver that points to a legacy system on SQL Server 2000. After the upgrade, my linkserver to the 2000 instance dosent work. I also cannot point it to a 2005 instance on the second machine that is not named the same as the server.
Any Ideas on how to fix????
Thanks in advance

You must run the instcat.sql script on the SQL 2000 machine. This script is part of the SQL 2000 SP4 installation (even though it doesn't get executed as part of the installation).
