Setting up MSDE w/Enterprise Manager

    Hello,

    Really need help setting up my MSDE with Enterprise Manager.

    During setup I receive the message to specify a strong password.

    How do I set this up so that this will also allow me to use enterprise manager? I'm told I need to have settings on mixed mode or execute the svrnetcn.exe.? (not sure where that is)

    Can someone please shed some light on the setup specifics...step by step? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    Hi to Give a Password install the MSDE from Command Prompt like the following

    setup sapwd "sapwd"

    once this is done . you need to go to windows registry

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\

    change the value of "LoginMode" to 2 ie Mixed Mode.

    then download the new SQL Server Manegment Studio for SQL Server 2005 Express. this is the best UI for MSDE. all others are eitehr simple or too complicated and Costly.
