I set up my sql server agent to email. It always gives me a failure message when I send to outside, but it is sucessfully for internal mail.

I did not get any error from the sql server. But my email inbox receive the following error message.

If you did not get an error message within SQL Server then your next step would be to contact your email admin. depending on your email system there are various rules and logs to look at.

Here is his answer.
An smtp server has to be setup somewhere. And also need a valid email acct to send outside.
my situation:
The smtp server is the virtual server in the IIS. The domain name in the server is dbase-svr.holyredeemer.local. The drop directory location is in the database server: C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Drop. I wrote an stored procedure in the SQL server database and set up a job in the SQL manager to email . I do not have problem to email me and Amelia. but it gav me failure message while I emailed to other outside domain email.
