Hi,
I have setup Log Shipping with SQL Server 2005 on my company's database. Everything works fine till 6:30 AM of the next morning. At 6:30 AM the Log Shipping job fails with the error (*** Error: BACKUP LOG cannot be performed because there is no current database backup).
Does this mean that I have to configure the job for doing full database backup daily in morning followed by Log Shipping process. Please clarify.
Also why the jobs fails exactly at 6:30AM daily. Any particular reason for this because it is not yet 24 hours after configuring the job.
Any suggessions are appreciated.
Thanks

Hello
Have you fixed your problem yet?
How often are you backing up the transaction logs for shipping? What is the recovery model of your primary database? I am wondering if some kind of operation, like a bulk load, is happening just before 6.30 that requires a backup before a transaction log backup can happen. That was my immediate thought when I saw the error message.

I just realised that we are running Re_indexing job just before 6:30 AM. Does Re-Indexing require database backup to be taken again for Log Shipping.
