If it were me, I'd search the Microsoft website for "certification" to get the info straight from the horse's mouth.

Certification will require some tenacity on your part...

Now that Sql 2005 certs are also available. If you still want to pursue certifications in SQL 2000, please head to http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcdba/requirements.asp
