I've gotten a couple of the error (copied at the end of this post) this mornining (Oct 18, 9-10 am CST); each time I tried to reload, things worked. Methinks you guys are getting too popular...?
And another petty gripe while I'm at it: When I generate a "post message" screen, it always take 5-10 seconds for the thing to draw (it takes a while for all those smileys to get drawn), and I can't type anything until it's all complete. (I wouldn't know if anything could be done about this, I'm just a DBA.)

If you want to get rid of the "smiley" delay, there is an option on your profile,
"Disable WYISWYG Forum Editor (faster page display)"

Worked like a charm. Hmm. Testing here... looks like I get courier, no fonts, bold, or italics. If so, that makes it a tricky call...

Your call, live with the "smiley" delay, or just go plain text. Myself I couldn't live without the smilies

The memory issues are very annoying. I always read the forums br browsing the Active Threads to see everything that is new since my last visit. If I get an "Out of memory"-exception when I open it all unread threads are lost. If I reload it, or come back later, only threads that have changed since after the exception are shown. It would be great if this could be solved.

That's why they bought a new server... looks like it was an application problem.

At some point I'm going to write a Perl script to cycle through the forums and compile new threads for me, but I haven't gotten the time as of yet. I've experienced the same issue you've described.

You're the lucky one... I stopped counting after I ran out of hands and feet in my whole office building .
