Hello Everyone,
Can you schedule Sybase scripts through a DTS?
I was reading the "Using DTS to ImportFrom/ExportTo a NonMicrosoft Database" at
http://www.aspfree.com/c/a/MS-SQL-Server/Using-DTS-Import-FromExport-To-a-NonMicrosoft-Database/
However, I am not trying to import/export data between MS-SQL server and Sybase 11.9.2, but only trying to work on the Sybase database itself. Currently, the scripts have not been automated, so someone has to kick them off manually even if it is 3-5 times in one night.
So, any help from you will be very helpful, and give my Manager and collegues a good night sleep.
Thanks,
TK

I used to do this all the time. You have to install the Sybase Open Client on the machine on which the DTS packages will run and you have to give the full path name to the execution of the Sybase versions of ISQL and BCP if you use them, but other than that, I can't remember anything special that I had to do.

Thanks. Yeah, we do have a plan to migrate to SQL (and it will take about 18 months for all of that to migrate), but untill then we need to be able to automate the scripts.
Does that mean that I will have to setup a separate server with both Sybase Open Client and SQL on it?
