Installing SQL Server 2005 Enterprise x-64 bit on Windows 2003 SP1 cluster

  • Hello!

I am pretty new in clustering world. I managed to install\configure and test Active/Passive cluster on Windows 2003 x-64 bit SP1. When I try to run installation of SQL Server 2005 x-64 bit, I only have an option to install client tools. SQL Server/Reporting Service/Notification services etc. is not available at 'Feature selection' screen. 'System configuration check' checks both nodes and comes back with OK status.
I am not sure why I am unable to select services during installation. I am pretty much sure installation is correct (SQL Server 2005 x-64 bit).
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • I've run into a similar issue and from what I have found, IIS (5.0 or later) needs to be installed prior to installing RS. I haven't tried it yet as I just found it this morning after having my first installation fail.

The requirements page on the MS site lists it as needed:

  • It turned out I was missing one of the installation CDs.
