Hello,
I had been using the sql server evaluation edition, which is now over and un-installed. I've heard I can also use the msde2000a release to do backups, which I downloaded but it refused to install after complaining about sa password.
I am "VERY" new to this so I'm not sure what to do at this point. But I only have 3 days to backup my db from my hosting company.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
(I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this post)

IF you only have 3 days and are having problems can you not just copy the MDF and LDF to your local PC??

You need to install msde2000a from the Run prompt using the switch SAPWD=YourPassword (using a strong password).
I not sure you can do backups with just msde2000a loaded.

You should be able to find the .ldf and .mdf in \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data
