SQL Server Management Studio (Express) Installation Issues

    Hello everyone,

    I'm attempting to install SQL Server Management Studio Express Edition and when I do, the following message pops up:

     

    Now I have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and Windows Installer 3.1 installed.

    Has anyone else came across the same issue?

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Joseph,

    I found the problem.  You cannot install the SQL Server Management Studio software from a network drive.  The installation worked once I copied the msi file to the C:\ drive, just in case anyone else has this issue.

    That's a good idea, I used to work with MSIs and the last thing you want is your client making network traffic everytime they open an app.
