quick question...
how do i turn off this 'double space' type i'm getting
when ever i type into forums?
i don't remember setting this parameter earlier, and it's
really starting to annoy me.
please let me know.
thanks

Not sure. I think there are more options in IE. Tend to use Firefox with no options.

Use notepad to type, then paste to this forum, benefit is that you will still have the text to try again when the "post" in this forum fails and looses the 15 minute typing of your earth shaking response.

thanks for the response.
unfortunately it's not a browser based setting.
this is the only forums where this is happening.
i could use notepad, but that can get pretty
annoying ya know.
i can use shift+enter if i want to type normally,
but that can be a pain as well.
maybe i accidentally hit some kind of hot-key
combo that changed the settings, but i have
no idea what i pressed.

Type Shift-ENTER instead of just the ENTER key.

if you switch to HTML view in the textbox where you type your comments, you'll see that when typing directly into textarea, the ENTER key ends up creating a <P> tag, and you really want it to be a <BR>;
but when you copy and paste, a CrLf becomes a <BR>
it's a caracteristic of the friendly RTF box, so you can either edit the HTML, or copy and paste from notepad so it maintains your expected view.

Another option is to edit your SSC profile, and check the "Disable WYISWYG Forum Editor (faster page display)" option near the bottom of the page. Of course, then you can't use fonts, bold, etc.

YES!!
Many Thanks!
"Disable WYISWYG Forum Editor" under user profile.
It worked!
What a relief.
Thanks again!
