sql2005 RTM..should I hold off until I have visStudio2005 RTM

    hiya,

    I am in the dodgy position of having a copy of sql2005 RTM without having visStudio2005 RTM.

    I have visStudio 2005 beta2.I was wondering if I should simply install the framework RTM and then install sql2005 RTM.

    Or, should I wait till I have visStudio RTM?

    Any comment appreciated.

    Yogi,

    You cannot have SQL Server 2005 RTM installed side-by-side with a preRTM release of Visual Studio 2005. You will need to clean up the preRTM installs prior to installing either the SQL Server RTM or the Visual Studio RTM. If you try this you are heading down the path of a world of problems. I'm sure this configuration was never tested, so while you might be able to force the install to complete, you don't know what will break down the line and support for your environment will be spotty.
